I had the great privilege to collaborate with the wonderful Gabriela Schutz on her graduation project at CSM MA Fine Art. I threw a series of terracotta pots on which Gabriela painted her Great Goddess; a modern icon of an ancient force.
The project explores the relationships between humans and nature, resistance against thoughtless progress and the place of femininity as a force of nature. There is a direct correlation between the subjugation of women and the subjugation of nature; both are used for what they can offer with little regard to their autonomy and well being.
